A Short Overview

The Boys Town Alumni (BTA) is a non-profit, membership based organization, that aims to bring together former students and teachers from the different components under Boys Town:

Assumption English School (AES)
Boys’ Town English School (BTES) - Previous name of AES
Assumption Pathway School (APS)
Assumption Vocational Institute (AVI) - Previous name of APS
Boys’ Town Vocational Institute (BTVI) – Prior to the name change to APS
Boys Town Home (BTH)

Members not only get to maintain links with each other and the school, the BTA forms an excellent platform for social and business networking. The BTA has also been actively contributing to the Scholarship / Bursary funds to benefit needy students in the schools under the Boys’ Town umbrella. BTA plays an active role in being a platform for members to also contribute back to schools under Boys’ Town.

 

The BTA is currently going through a transformation. With the induction younger Exco members recently, the BTA has swung into motion to recreate the alumni into one that is relevant to the environment today. With better interaction with younger school leavers, it is able to better understand the needs of existing members and former students and teachers who have yet to join as members.

 

The BTA is working out the details and will release more information of what is to expected from 2011 and beyond, in its 50th Anniversary Celebrations to be held in conjunction with Founders’ Day, on the 29th of October 2010.
